The project ‘Calyptra’ aims to cast light over the process under the sheath.
It’s a game of hiding and appearing - that is what people and Mosses have in common - developing senses deep inside, searching ways to project themselves at the depths as well as on the surface. Calyptra will show how moss (sphagnum), formed by numerous hollow cells, starts to change and absorb what’s coming from the outside world, while staying hidden behind it’s semi-transparent sheath Calyptra is about common ground we are all made of cells we are not empty we are consistent we absorb we connect we Are connected we develop sustainability Moss plants played an important role in shaping our planet they sculpted themselves and the surrounding environment as sculptors, architects, Artists We are creating and shaping ideas - they are our microworld The way we are sculpting, drawing and composing our future is the way we are shaping our planet Calyptra is about teaching our senses to see underneath and be more connected. We are all one - tolerant or misbehaving, growing inside ourselves locked as if we are imprisoned. But what if 'imprisoned' is no longer an option? |
